update: dec 04 2008 Who am I? My name is Antoine Pütz, (aka Pinbackfreak) age 38, male, playing guitar and bassguitar and listening to Pinback a lot which makes me feel good. Living with my girlfriend Marjolein in the Netherlands. I'm teaching guitar (and bassguitar) in Belgium, at the MUZIEKODROOM.BE I didn't hear of Pinback until june 2002. Marjolein who is a Pinback-fan too, showed me some material of Pinback and I was immediately hooked. Why then a fansite since 2004 and not in right away in 2002? I visited 2 Pinback concerts. In Ekko Utrecht (NL) and in Gleis 22 Münster (GER). I was astonished by their performance and really motivated for building a website right away. Allthough my age of 34 I felt like a little boy, screaming and yelling the lyrics at their concerts. And yes: I am sooooo happy with Rob's setlist of Gleis 22 Münster (GER) :-) One more thing I'm very happy with: the forum I started turned aug 2007 into the official Pinback-forum. Man, that makes me proud. The guys are happy too. Cool.
Here I am (most right) with my girlfriend (most left) with Joss, the drummer of
"The Dudley Corporation".
They played two tremendous opening shows for Pinback in Utrecht & Münster. Very nice guys too!! This pic is taken
on tuesday july 20 2004 in Münster (GER). If you look well you can see her holding a copy of "BLUE SCREEN LIFE"; ofcourse signed by Rob, Absiv and the
rest of the wonderful Pinback-band. It still needs to get a nice place in our house, but it will! ================ Right now I play guitar and am the singer of 21 Eyes of Ruby. Our new album "Conquer The World pt. 4" will be released march 21st 2009. Our double-album "Conquer The World pt. 2&3" has been released may 31st 2007. you can download songs for free HERE ================ And I'm still playing bass in 1 band: MANFRED LEUCHTER. A fine band who plays world/jazz music. Influenced by Maroccan styles it mixes jazz and rhythmical parts very smooth. ================ After finishing my study electrical engineer in 1990 and practising my job for 2 years I decided to spent my time entirely on music. So I started in 1994 with my study bassguitar at the Conservatory. In 1998 (officially 2000) I graduated at the "Conservatory Maastricht" (NL). I studied bassguitar with Alex Boerner. But I started as a guitarplayer in 1985. James Hetfield was my hero and I HAD to get a guitar. From there on I made a musical journey through metal/jazz/pop/rock and more ..... Studying JAZZ was fun, but I achieved even more fun by looking to "The Presidents of the USA" on Pinkpop (NL) 1996 (I think so). After that I made a decision not to play doublebass anymore and concentrate on playing the electric bass. Those guys rocked! Anyway: since then I'm more into rock and independent music. As you can see in my other favourite bands except Pinback who are: The Fall of Troy, Motorpsycho, Tool, Pixies, Weezer, The Presidents of the USA, Built to Spill, Sunny Day Real Estate... I used to play bass in the "Tinsel Town Rebellion Band" a Frank Zappa (cover) Band. It was a big happening every time we played. 12 guys, 5 horns, big percussions, guys with masks, men in womenuniforms ... and very beautiful and "complicated" music. Aug 16th 2008 we had our last concert in front of 400 Zappa-freaks. Oh yeah, Jazz Orchestra "Brownie Speaks" was a band I played in as well. BigBand music with nice music of Pat Metheny, Peter Herbolzheimer, Bob Mintzer & more. We made two cd's. The first one was called "First". The second one was never released. As far as I know there are 4 tracks mixed and it still needs to be finished. My hobbies are playing the drums, hanging around on festivals, and making things with the computer, such as building websites .... ================
My favourite PB songs are:
Victorius D off the "Offcell" ep
But yes ... Offline P.K., Penelope, Seville, Tripoli, Chaos Engine & Loro are superb as well....
This is my favourite Pinback-illustration: (it's on the self titled debut-cd)
